Simply Mindful is delighted to offer a 4 week face to face Mindfulness for Stressed Parents program on Friday mornings in November.
Some stress is normal and healthy but for many parents, stress is a constant companion which can lead to ill health and impact negatively on quality of relationships and other parts of life.
The arrival of the coronavirus pandemic fast on the heels of a challenging summer of bushfires and smoke has added another layer of stress, uncertainty and anxiety to the lives of parents which has flow-on effects to children.
Mindfulness for Stressed Parents is designed to give parents added skills to nurture themselves, address their stress levels and build more harmony and peace in their home.
The program includes weekly 2-hour face to face sessions on Friday mornings and an early morning weekly guided meditation online. Friday morning sessions will be face to face, with the extra mid week half hour guided meditations online.
Parents will learn the fundamentals of a Mindfulness practise and other techniques including Insight Journaling and how to cultivate more personal harmony and peace.
Suitable for beginning and experienced meditators. No prior experience of Mindfulness is necessary.

Facilitators: Your teachers will be Jennifer Sexton and Simply Mindful Director, Megan Layton. Jennifer has a passion for bringing mindfulness into schools and family life and has personally experienced the way mindfulness practice has helped her as a parent. Megan has worked with adults, children and teenagers, parents and communities for the last 22 years in a range of very challenging settings. She is convinced that mindfulness has the potential to bring out the best in us as parents, even when we’re under a lot of pressure. It can change your life, improve your relationships and empower you as a parent. She has navigated her way through the rocky shoals of separation, divorce and adolescence and although far from perfect, she’s certain mindfulness helped her to dig deep and be her best self in fraught situations.

Online mid week guided meditation sessions will be held 6.30am – 7am Tuesdays 10th, 17th and 24th of November. In your registration confirmation email you will receive details on how to join these sessions.
A note on course fees: As this is the first time we’ve run this program, we are offering it at a reduced price. If you are unable to afford the full fee please email firstname.lastname@example.org and let us know what you can afford. Registrations close 4th November 2020.
COVID-19 Hygiene Precautions: Hygiene and social distancing precautions will be taken to ensure the health and wellbeing of participants in line with current ACT health advice for COVID-19. Participants will be notified of these closer to the start date.
