Join us in this 8 week practice group to extend, enrich and deepen your practice. This in depth extended group practice will be led by Anthony Hopkins, long time meditator, mindfulness practitioner and student of MBSR. Guided practices will explore use of noting and deepening concentration, clarity and equanimity. In uncertain and challenging times these core components of mindfulness training are even more valuable as they can help reduce suffering and bring greater ease, clarity and connection. Anthony has also trained with Julianna Raye using the highly regarded ‘unified mindfulness’ system established by Shinzen Young, American mindfulness teacher and neuroscience research consultant.

The Teacher: Anthony Hopkins is an experienced mindfulness meditator, having first learned the practice in 1997 during a ten-day silent retreat in the Blue Mountains. Since then he has been a serious student of the practice and experienced its benefits. Anthony can personally attest to the life changing potential of the MBSR course and has also practiced and led practice groups in other similar traditions for many years. He has a deep interest in compassion practices and in bringing mindfulness and compassion to the criminal justice system. Anthony began his career as a criminal defence lawyer at the Aboriginal Legal Service in Alice Springs and continues to practice in criminal law. He is a Barrister and an Associate Professor at the ANU Law School.
