Our September retreat is a special opportunity to take some time out of your normal routine and responsibilities to revive yourself deeply and align your body, mind and energies with the new season.
This two day, two night retreat will be largely in silence under the guidance of our teachers, with time to set intentions and explore how we might live with greater wisdom and compassion for ourselves, others and the environment.
If you have undertaken our one day retreat and are interested in extending that experience and your practice, then this retreat is for you. This retreat is ideal for people who have some experience of mindfulness meditation, such as Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction or equivalent.
Our April 2022 weekend retreat participants said …
“The retreat is truly a refuge from the modern world”
“It’s like coming home – I feel completely grounded”
‘I can’t wait for the next one’
We will be at our beautiful venue—the Gathering Place in Dickson—a calm oasis right in the heart of our city. We have exclusive use of the venue and garden, including the labyrinth. Single room accommodation is provided or you can choose the non-residential option, joining us for the retreat day and returning home at night to sleep. Healthy delicious vegetarian meals are included.
Covid safe protocols will be in place for the duration of the retreat; we will update you on these closer to the start date. We will endeavour to maintain high levels of hygiene and ventilation. We have the entire venue to ourselves for the duration of the weekend.
The Best Season
Spring comes with flowers, autumn with the moon,
Summer with a breeze, winter with snow;
When useless things don’t stick in the mind –
That is your best season. (Anonymous)

Your teacher will be Trevor Heldt. Trevor is an experienced meditator and has been practising mindfulness since 2006. He is an established Canberra based teacher and has been leading and teaching community and corporate mindfulness programs and retreats since 2018.
Mindfulness has been transformative for Trevor and his partner simply says that he is much easier to get along with! He practices mindfulness regularly, except when he doesn’t (and when that happens he begins again).
Trevor trained with the Mindfulness Training Institute of Australia’s Timothea Goddard and Bob Stahl in 2013 and 2015 and has Level II certification. Trevor is also a Centre for Mindfulness Qualified MBSR teacher and trained Mindfulness Mentor through Cloud Sangha.
As with all Simply Mindful programs, self-care is a very important aspect of any retreat. You will be encouraged to do what is right for you throughout the retreat, whilst respecting the structure and purpose of the retreat. Whilst we encourage you to participate in as much as the program as possible, it is fine for you to opt out of certain practices, or do your own practice as long as it does not cause disruption to the group.
Caution: Although mindfulness, yoga and retreats are beneficial for most people they are not a substitute for medical or psychiatric treatment. Mindfulness retreats may not be suitable for persons with some health conditions. If you are currently receiving treatment for a serious physical health issue or psychological or psychiatric disorder, or have a past history of a serious physical health issue or mental health disorder, you should obtain professional advice prior to participating in the retreat.
If you would like to know more about the retreat before you register, please send any questions to email@example.com.
