Take time out to deepen your practice, refresh body, heart and mind and take care of your mental health and wellbeing in lockdown.

Join this half day of mindfulness practice held mostly in silence under the guidance of experienced Simply Mindful facilitator, Trevor. A range of mindfulness practices familiar to MBSR students are included in the retreat.

Mindfulness practice can help reduce stress, connect us with a strong calm presence and enable us to act skilfully, cooperatively and compassionately. Practicing as a community helps us all to stay sane, stay connected and remind us of our shared humanity.

Please note that you must be a current or previous graduate of our 8 week MBSR program in order to attend the half- day retreat. Participants from other reputable programs will also be accepted.

Tips for online retreats: 

JOIN FOR AS MUCH AS YOU CAN –  you are welcome to join for part or all of the retreat.

  • an attitude of ‘relaxed diligence’ is encouraged
  • living circumstances vary, so just do the best you can with what you’ve got
  • try to avoid doing any ‘jobs’ during the retreat
  • prepare a welcoming and calm space to do your retreat in the day before
  • clear the space, set up your meditation gear and include something soothing to look at, like a vase of flowers or sit facing a window view to the sky/garden.
  • include a yoga mat, blankets, cushions, water, a notebook, and wear comfortable layers
  • it may not be possible to spend the retreat in silence, and that’s ok
  • let other household members know what you’re doing so they can be supportive if possible
  • find a pair of noise cancelling headphones if you live in a noisy household
  • if internet reception is poor, turn your video off and just join with audio
  •  you don’t have to sit looking at the screen all the time – feel free to lie down or move around during the day as long as you can hear the audio
  • we will start with some tech orientation and guidelines

A note on fees
If you can we would appreciate it if you could pay the standard fee. We are happy to offer a reduced price for anyone experiencing financial hardship due to COVID-19, full-time students and health care card holders. If the reduced fee is unaffordable please contact us on info@simplymindful.com.au and let us know what you can afford.
