Antonia Anderson

Admin Support

Antonia has a background in writing and teaching. She is a graduate of Chatham University and Naropa University. She first encountered mindfulness training at the Shambhala Centre in Boulder, Colorado, where she did Warrior Training and volunteered as an aide. She went on to study and practice in Nepal, and eventually moved to Australia to start a family. She now lives in Canberra with her partner and two extremely cheeky, grubby children.

She was delighted to come across Simply Mindful in 2019 and took the MBSR course for the first time. Since then she has enjoyed attending the silent retreats and taking other courses to deepen her mindfulness practice and connect with the supportive and brilliant Simply Mindful community.

Antonia loves bringing order to chaos and making things run smoothly in the background. “Systemisation” and “automation” are two of her favourite concepts despite being very clunky boring-sounding words.

When she is not answering your lovely emails, helping you register for courses or mucking about with the Simply Mindful website, she enjoys long walks in the bush and reading anything from queer paranormal romances to software documentation to the back of the cereal box. She also runs a small business helping new parents thrive in the postpartum period, and training the professionals who support them.

        Jenny Holmes

        MBSR teacher

Jenny began her mindfulness journey in 2006 when she did the MBSR course. At the time she was burnt out physically, mentally and emotionally – the result of accumulated stress, grief and health issues.

The MBSR course was transformative and marked the beginning of a long healing journey. Mindfulness has had a profound impact on Jenny’s life. “It has enriched my life to such an extent that I feel it has brought me back to life. I have a deeper connection to myself and others which has brought greater understanding of the nature of life and my place in it. Mindfulness has given me clarity, stability and ease in many areas of my life, bringing more moments of joy, peace and gratitude. It has also enabled me to live well with a chronic health condition.”

Jenny has a committed daily mindfulness meditation practice and enjoys extending her learning and deepening her practice regularly at retreats, workshops and practice groups.

She also enjoys a deep interest in body based practices such as yoga, Alexander Technique, dance and authentic movement.

In 2018 Jenny successfully completed Level 1 MBSR teacher training with the MTIA and she co-leads Graduate Practice Groups and helps out at Simply Mindful retreats.

          Trevor Heldt

          MBSR teacher

Trevor did his first MBSR course with Simply Mindful in 2006 and since then has attended numerous graduate practice groups and Cultivating Mindfulness courses. He has found that mindfulness provides him with both the mental and emotional space and calmness needed to balance his hectic work and family life. His partner simply says that he is much easier to get along with! He practices mindfulness regularly, except when he doesn’t (and when that happens he begins again).

Trevor trained with the Mindfulness Training Institute of Australia’s Timothea Goddard and Bob Stahl in 2013 and 2015. In 2017 Trevor participated in an MBSR Teacher Group Supervision program run by the Centre for Mindfulness, University of Massachusetts with Lynn Koerbel. Trevor has led several 8 week MBSR programs, many weekly graduate practice groups and half-day retreats. Trevor is a CFM Qualified MBSR teacher and is gaining Level II accreditation through the Mindfulness Training Institute of Australia. He has undertaken supervision with Sue Hays.

It has enormous value and potential to help us live better, happier, more skillful and compassionate lives. It has helped me make sense of many things in my endeavours to understand human suffering and healing.  Each time I teach, I am totally inspired by the feedback from participants about the impact it has on their lives, their relationships, their work and their understanding of themselves.”
