What do I need to bring to my first MBSR class?

For the first meeting of your MBSR program you need to bring something to lie on (a yoga mat, camping mat or soft blanket are ideal), pillow to support your head or for under your knees, and a blanket.  The suggested posture for the first meditation you will be learning is lying down and having these will help ensure you’re comfortable. A pen and glasses might be useful as you may wish to write in or read the workbook you will be receiving on the first evening.

 

What do I need to bring to a Day of Mindfulness?

If you are attending your first Day of Mindfulness you will need to bring your meditation gear, a plate, bowl and mug and cutlery. You might like to label your crockery and cutlery if it is not distinctive.  A water bottle and your course book may be useful.  There will be opportunities for going outside throughout the day, so please bring appropriate clothing.  If you’re attending the day in winter, or the weather has turned cold, please bring extra warm blankets or clothing – the hall can be cold, especially in the morning! You need only bring food if you have a very restrictive diet.  We do cater for most diets (grain-free, gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian, vegan) and all food is labelled.  As well, tea and coffee (plunger) are provided.  Please do NOT bring iPods,iPads, or book other than your course book.  

If you are attending as a graduate, you will need to bring all of the above PLUS your plate of food (unless you have previously made a financial contribution)!

 

What do I need to bring to a Cultivating Mindfulness course?

Please bring your meditation gear, a pen and a journal for note taking.

 

What do I need to bring to the Graduate Practice group?

You need only bring your meditation gear and your good self!
