Menopause —  end of life, or coming into your power?

You are invited to this Winter Solstice Retreat for women to connect, reflect, explore and become empowered in this chapter of life.

In a culture which sends a message to women that you are becoming insignificant in this life stage, this retreat supports women to understand how significant and powerful this period of life is. Winter solstice provides a potent opportunity to slow down, turn inwards, let go of what is no longer serving us and make space for new growth and purpose.

We are delighted to once again bring guest facilitator Jan Roberts to Canberra. Jan has a lifetime of experience working with women’s organisations, facilitating women’s circles and mentoring women coming into one of the most powerful stages of their life.

For many women, menopause—the cessation of menstruation—is a time of great change on every level: mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually. It can be profoundly challenging, bringing up volatile and difficult emotions and thoughts and painful and debilitating physical changes.

Menopause can herald in a period where women feel increasingly invisible in society, disempowered and like they are in physical decline.

It doesn’t have to be that way.

Menopause is a rite of passage into what psychologist Carl Jung called the Wise Woman or Crone Archetypal stage of life—a period where women integrate their life’s journey thus far, tapping into internal reservoirs of wisdom and female intuition and the power of honouring older women.

It is a stage where women can affirm their authentic self, let go of things that no longer serve them and make space for new purpose and deeper knowing.

This retreat offers an island of sanity to hold women in this life stage, a safe supportive space to slow down, rest and turn inwards, connect with other women, reflect, explore, reorient and become empowered.

It is necessary for the world in its present chaos, for women to take their place. For their voices to be heard and their wisdom to counter what is a world hanging onto a dying, non-sustainable, patriarchal culture.

How will the day flow?
Elements of meditation, journaling, music, movement, practices, small group sharing, and possibly other processes will be offered as the day evolves. All women will have the choice of alone time if this is their desire and everything is voluntary.

A nourishing vegetarian morning tea and lunch will be provided. Gluten and dairy free options included.

If you cannot afford the full fee, please email us.
