Terms & Conditions

CAUTION: Although Mindfulness practices are beneficial for most people they are not a substitute for medical or psychiatric treatment. An intensive mindfulness program or retreat may not be suitable for persons with psychological or psychiatric disorders. If you are currently receiving treatment for any psychological or psychiatric disorder, or have a past history of mental health disorder, you should obtain professional advice prior to participating in a program or retreat.

DISCLAIMER AND INDEMNITY: By registering for a Simply Mindful program I am agreeing to attend and participate in it at my own risk entirely. I further acknowledge and agree to indemnify Simply Mindful from and against all claims, demands, writs, actions and suits of any kind that may be brought or made against Simply Mindful (or any of its members or teachers) as a result of my attendance and participation in the program.

Please read the following carefully before registering for any of our programs.

Payment deadlines

Full payment of the fee is due prior to the program start date, unless a payment plan has been agreed to.

If you register for a program that is on sale, you must complete payment before the end of the sale. If you do not complete payment before the sale ends, the full fee will be owing.

Withdrawals, cancellations and transfers

We recognise that sometimes unexpected changes in circumstances mean that people are unable to proceed with a program as they had planned.

All withdrawals, cancellations and transfers incur a $50 admin fee. The $50 admin fee partially covers our administration expenses and is non-refundable.

If a program is cancelled by us you will receive a full refund. If a program is rescheduled by us and you cannot make the new date, you will receive a full refund.

Simply Mindful reserves the right to cancel programs and retreats if there are insufficient numbers or other circumstances which necessitate cancellation (ie lockdown or other unacceptable risks).

Refunds and transfers are possible for some of our programs. Please see the schedule below that applies to your program type for specific details.

A course refers to any program that takes place regularly over a series of weeks. This includes our 8 week MBSR course as well as others.

Should you need to withdraw from a course, please advise us at soon as possible so that your place can be offered to someone on the waiting list. Depending on when you advise us, you may receive a full or partial refund.

Please refer to the schedule below for a full understanding.

Course Transfers

You may be able to transfer your course registration to another term. This is at the discretion of your teacher. Transfers incur the same admin fee as refunds. Once a course has started transfers are not possible. Please ask us about this option to find out if you are eligible.

Should you need to withdraw from a retreat, please advise us at soon as possible so that your place can be offered to someone on the waiting list. Suppliers and caterers must be paid well in advance and it is often difficult to fill retreat places at short notice due to the time commitments involved.

Depending on when you advise us, you may receive a full or partial refund.

Discounted places and payment plans

We have a commitment to making the MBSR program accessible to as many people as possible, even when people can’t afford the full fee (for example, health care card holders and full time students). To this end, we offer payment plans and discounted places.

At your pre-course meeting, speak with the teacher who is in charge of the course you want to attend about what you can afford. We are proud of the fact that we have never turned anyone away from doing the program just because they couldn’t afford the full fees.

If we agree to a payment plan, you will be asked to sign a payment agreement. If you decide to withdraw from the course, the withdrawal and refund policy applies regardless of where you are up to in the payment schedule.

Payment plans must be completed before the end of the course. In 8 week courses all payments are due by week 6. In 6 week courses, all payments are due by Week 5.

The withdrawal and refund policy also applies to reduced fees.
