Summer Meditation Challenge

Facilitator: Megan Layton
Monday 22 December – Monday 2 February (6 weeks)

The holiday season is often when routines go out the window, but it can also be an opportunity to create “sticky” habits. This summer, join us to kickstart your mindfulness practice!

Over six weeks, you’ll commit to meditating at least three times per week, building a consistent practice. Enjoy the support of a welcoming online community and join three live mini-classes to reset, reflect, and set mindful intentions.

Whether you’re new to meditation or returning after a break, this challenge will help you create lasting habits and enter the new year with clarity and calm.

If the start date has passed, you are welcome to register late and join us for the remaining live calls. Please email us so we can ensure you have everything you need.

The holiday season is often when routines go out the window, but it can also be an ideal opportunity to create new “sticky” habits. This summer, join us for a fresh start and kickstart your mindfulness practice!

How the Summer Meditation Challenge will work:

You commit to practicing meditation at least 3 days per week, for the duration of the 6-week challenge.

Have you found it tricky in the past to maintain a consistent practice? Or maybe you are brand-new to meditation and not sure how to get started. Either way, a supportive community and shared commitment can make all the difference!

You choose when, where and how to practice. Any meditation session 10 minutes or longer “counts” for a particular day.

We support you with three live Mini-Classes and regular emails.

Each mini-class is a 30-minute session to help you reset and feel grounded during the holiday season. Note that the final session will be online only—the other two sessions will meet face-to-face at the Gathering Place, our urban retreat centre in Dickson.

You are encouraged to attend all three sessions live but if you do miss a session, recordings will be available through 2026.

Megan will send regular emails throughout the Challenge to encourage you, with practical advice on how to overcome common obstacles like tiredness, boredom, and distraction.

Mini-class #1: Monday 22 December, 5:30pm

The Gathering Place (or online Zoom option)
The challenge begins! Megan will lead us through some gentle movement and meditation practices.

Mini-class #2: Monday 12 January, 5:30pm

The Gathering Place (or online Zoom option)
At this point we are over halfway through the challenge! Megan will again guide us through some meditation practices and gentle movement.

Mini-class #3: Monday 2 February, 5:30pm

Online only
The theme of our final session is Mindful Intentions. This mini-class will help us start 2026 with clarity and purpose. Megan will guide us to:

  • reflect on what truly matters
  • connect with our intentions
  • shape our year with awareness

Free bonus: join the circle

Keep your commitment alive and connect with like-minded people in our private online circle, hosted on Insight Timer (which is available as a free download).

We will also use Insight Timer to log meditation sessions, making it effortless to track your 3x weekly commitment.

If you need a little extra motivation…

We think you’ll find that regular meditation practice brings its own rewards of a calmer and more resilient mind, not to mention the warm feeling of a supportive community with shared goals. But just for fun, everyone who meets the minimum commitment of meditating 3x weekly will be entered into a prize draw.
